Overview

Naples Municipal Airport (KAPF) is a Tier 1 towered field on Florida's Gulf Coast, roughly 9 nautical miles from Naples proper, and handles a business aviation load that ranks it among the busier general aviation airports in the region. The field runs two paved runways plus a turf strip, offers full customs and USDA inspection services onsite, and stocks 100LL, Jet A, Jet A+, and UL94 fuel. Bizav operations account for the large majority of the airport's 63,275 annual operations recorded in FAA TFMSC data for 2025.

Operating constraints

Naples Municipal has published operating constraints in six categories: access, weight restrictions, runway notes, noise procedures, pavement strength and other notes.

Access

For clearance delivery, if unable to contact on the flight service station frequency, contact Fort Myers Approach; when Approach is closed, contact Miami Air Route Traffic Control Center.

Runups are not authorized between 2200 and 0700. Taxiway A runup pads are for Runway 5/23 piston aircraft only. Jet aircraft runups are confined to the Taxiway C area between Taxiway C3 and Taxiway D and require prior permission from the tower.

Weight restrictions

The airport is closed to aircraft exceeding 75,000 pounds maximum gross weight on dual gear, as indicated on the aircraft operating certificate issued by the manufacturer.

For weight-modified aircraft, notify airport operations prior to arrival.

Runway notes

When the airport traffic control tower is closed, pilots must activate the REIL for Runways 05, 14, 23, and 32, the PAPI for Runways 14 and 32, and the MIRL for Runways 05/23 and 14/32, using the CTAF.

The NE/SW runway is marked with pavers and PVC pipes.

Runway 05 approach slope is 50:1 to the displaced threshold.

Runway 23 approach slope is 47:1 to the displaced threshold.

Taxiway C from C-1 to the end of the runway at Runway 32 is not visible from the airport traffic control tower.

Runway 23 is designated the calm wind runway for arrivals between 2200 and 0600. Runway 5 is designated the calm wind runway for departures between 2200 and 0600.

The Naples Municipal Airport general aviation apron contains obstruction light poles.

Noise procedures

This is an extremely noise-sensitive area; use noise abatement procedures.

Pavement strength

PCR value: 210/F/B/X/T.

PCR value: 320/F/B/X/T.

Other notes

Voluntary restrictions exist for all aircraft operations between 2200 and 0700.

Full-service fuel is not available daily between 0130 and 1030 Zulu.

Frequently asked questions

What runways are available at KAPF?

Naples Municipal Airport operates two paved runways and one turf runway. Runway 05/23 is the longest at 6,600 feet with a width of 150 feet, and Runway 14/32 measures 5,001 feet by 100 feet, both surfaced in asphalt. A third runway, oriented NE / SW, is a 1,850-foot turf strip marked with pavers and PVC pipes rather than standard paint. The asphalt runways carry PCR values of 210/F / B/X / T and 320/F / B/X / T, figures dispatchers can use for pavement loading checks at KAPF.

Is there a weight restriction for aircraft operating at Naples Municipal Airport?

Yes, Naples Municipal Airport is closed to aircraft exceeding 75,000 pounds maximum gross weight on dual gear, as indicated on the aircraft operating certificate issued by the manufacturer. This limit applies specifically to dual-gear configurations and should be checked against the operating certificate for any aircraft near that threshold. Operators planning a stop at KAPF with heavier equipment should confirm gear configuration and certified weight before filing. This restriction is separate from the pavement classification numbers published for the two paved runways.

Are customs services available at KAPF?

Naples Municipal Airport has onsite CBP inspection services along with a USDA compliance agreement, so international arrivals can clear customs and agricultural inspection directly at the field. This is a meaningful operational advantage for a Tier 1 general aviation airport in southwest Florida, removing the need to route through a separate port of entry. Operators should still coordinate arrival details with CBP in advance per standard procedure, since onsite availability does not eliminate advance notice requirements. KAPF's customs setup supports its role as a significant business aviation gateway during peak winter months.

When is fuel service limited at Naples Municipal Airport?

Full-service fuel is not available daily between 0130 and 1030 Zulu at Naples Municipal Airport. Outside that window, the field stocks 100LL, Jet A, Jet A+, and UL94, supporting both piston and turbine operators. Dispatchers planning arrivals or departures inside the 0130-1030Z window should account for reduced fuel service availability and coordinate timing accordingly. The airport's attendance schedule runs from 0600 to 2200 local, all days, which operators should weigh alongside the fuel service gap when planning ground time at KAPF.

What noise and nighttime operating restrictions apply at KAPF?

Naples Municipal Airport sits in an extremely noise-sensitive area, and noise abatement procedures apply to all operations. Voluntary restrictions exist for all aircraft operations between 2200 and 0700, and engine runups are not permitted during that same window. When runups are allowed, piston aircraft use the Taxiway A pads for Runway 5/23, while jet aircraft runups are confined to a Taxiway C area between C3 and D and require prior permission from the tower. Additionally, Runway 23 is designated the calm wind runway for arrivals and Runway 5 for departures between 2200 and 0600 at KAPF.
