Operating constraints

Mayport Ns (adm David L McDonald Fld) Airport has published operating constraints in seven categories: access, weight restrictions, runway notes, emergency arresting systems, noise procedures, pavement strength and other notes.

Access

Caution: light to heavy bird activity occurs on and near the airport. Vessels with masts up to 196 feet are frequently berthed 800 feet left of the runway 23 threshold, and large vessels with masts up to 150 feet frequently transit the adjacent river channel during final approach to runway 23.

Caution: exercise vigilance during runway 05 operations due to extensive controlled and uncontrolled aircraft traffic in the vicinity of Craig Municipal Airport. Pads 1 and 3 have altered lighting and are approved for locally based aircraft only.

Customs, agriculture, and immigration processing is available during airfield hours with a 24-hour prior permission request.

For clearance delivery, contact Jacksonville Approach.

Weight restrictions

Fire equipment includes a 1500-gallon Stryker unit equipped with a 210-gallon foam tank and 500 pounds of Halon, two 1250-GPM pumpers with 750 gallons of water, one 2000-GPM ARFF apparatus with 500 gallons of water, one advanced life support transport ambulance, one heavy rescue truck with hazmat and technical rescue response capabilities, one hazmat decontamination trailer, one air cart for refilling air bottles, two utility trucks, and one command vehicle.

Runway notes

Traffic pattern: right traffic for runway 23 and left traffic for runway 05. Simultaneous landings and departures between helicopters are conducted on the parallel taxiway located 325 feet from runway 05/23.

Caution: expect simultaneous same-direction operations during dual runway operations.

Emergency arresting systems

Arresting hook cable E28(B), located 1200 feet down the runway; 30 minutes notice is required for arrestment unless the field is in divert status.
