Overview
Kaolin Field (KOKZ) is a public-use, non-towered airport serving Sandersville, Georgia, with a single paved runway long enough to accommodate a range of business aircraft. The field is unattended outside its posted Monday-through-Friday daytime hours, and dispatchers should note that customs clearance is not available onsite, with KMCN standing as the nearest customs airport. Traffic at KOKZ remains modest, consistent with its designation as a secondary regional field supporting the broader central Georgia area.

Kaolin Field (KOKZ) has a single paved runway, 13/31, measuring 5,501 feet long and 75 feet wide with an asphalt surface. This length supports most business jet operations without restriction. There is no crosswind runway, so pilots should account for wind conditions relative to the 13/31 alignment when planning arrivals or departures.
Kaolin Field does not have customs clearance onsite. The nearest customs airport is KMCN, located approximately 44 nautical miles away. Flights requiring customs processing should plan to route through KMCN or another designated port of entry rather than expecting clearance directly at KOKZ.
KOKZ offers 100LL and Jet A fuel, with attendance scheduled Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1700 local time. Outside these hours the field operates unattended, so flights arriving early, late, or on weekends should plan fuel and services accordingly. There is no continuous staffing beyond the posted weekday schedule.
Kaolin Field (KOKZ) has REIL on runway 13 and MIRL on runway 13/31, preset to low intensity from dusk until 2200. Pilots can increase intensity or activate lighting after 2200 by using CTAF, and PAPI on both runways 13 and 31 is also pilot-activated through CTAF. This makes lighting control dependent on radio activation rather than continuous illumination.
