Overview
Flying Cloud Airport (KFCM) is a towered, public-use business aviation field located about 13 nautical miles from downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The airport recorded 28,179 total operations in 2025 according to FAA TFMSC data, with business aviation traffic making up the large majority of that volume at 21,163 operations. KFCM operates under a weight and noise-based access restriction that excludes larger jets, distinguishing it from the region's primary international gateway at nearby Minneapolis-St. Paul International.

These restrictions apply regardless of runway length, since the longest runway, 10R/28L, measures 5,001 feet. Dispatchers planning heavier jet movements into the Minneapolis area should route those flights to a different field. Ultralight operations are also prohibited airport-wide.
