Overview
Dothan Regional Airport (KDHN) serves the Wiregrass region of southeast Alabama with a towered field offering a full-length primary runway and a secondary crosswind runway. FAA TFMSC data credits the airport with 17,808 annual operations in 2025, of which 10,780 are business aviation, making KDHN a tier-1 field within Skystar's coverage. The airport sits roughly 61 nautical miles from the nearest major metro area and maintains both 100LL and Jet A fuel with year-round attendance.
Dothan Regional has two paved runways. The longest, 14/32, is 8,500 ft long and 150 ft wide, with an asphalt surface.

Dothan Regional has Jet A and 100LL available on the field. Fueling is available 24 hours a day, every day, and the airport has an operating control tower.

Dothan Regional recorded 10,780 business aviation movements in 2025. Traffic peaks in May, June and July. Business aviation traffic at KDHN concentrates in the May-through-July period, with each of those months exceeding 1,000 operations against a low near 773-870 in other months.

Dothan Regional averages 23.7 days above 90°F in July and 8.5 freeze days in January. July is the warmest month, with average highs of 93.3°F, and January the coldest, at 61.7°F.

Dothan Regional has published operating constraints in four categories: access, runway notes, pavement strength and other notes.
The line of sight from Dothan ATC to a portion of Taxiway Bravo, between Taxiway Alpha and the approach end of Runway 36, is obstructed by the airport building.
For clearance delivery when the tower is closed, if unable to reach by radio, contact Cairns Approach. When Approach is closed, contact Jacksonville ARTCC.
The north apron is closed except to military aircraft. A 24-hour prior permission request is otherwise required.
The maximum width of Taxiway A is 75 feet where it serves Runway 14/32.
When the ATCT is closed, pilots may activate the MALSR on Runway 32, REIL on Runways 14 and 18, PAPI on Runway 14, and HIRL on Runway 14/32 via CTAF. PAPI on Runway 18 and MIRL on Runway 18/36 are available only by prior request during attended hours.
Restriction: USAF C-130 aircraft are not authorized to operate on Runway 18/36.

Dothan Regional Airport, KDHN, offers Runway 14/32 at 8,500 feet long and 150 feet wide, with an asphalt surface. A secondary runway, 18/36, measures 5,501 feet by 102 feet, also asphalt. The longer runway accommodates the full range of business jet types operating into the field. Taxiway A reaches a maximum width of 75 feet where it serves Runway 14/32. Together these dimensions support the bulk of the airport's business aviation traffic, which accounted for over 10,000 operations in 2025.
Dothan Regional Airport, KDHN, stocks both 100LL avgas and Jet A fuel. The field operates on an ALL / ALL / ALL attendance schedule, meaning services are staffed year round. ARFF personnel are also on duty at the airport 24 hours a day. No customs facility is located onsite at KDHN; the nearest customs airport is KPNS, roughly 103 nautical miles away. Dispatchers planning international arrivals should route through that facility rather than expecting onsite clearance at Dothan.
At Dothan Regional Airport (KDHN), the north apron is closed to all traffic except military aircraft, with a 24-hour prior permission requirement for other users. Separately, USAF C-130 aircraft are not authorized to operate on Runway 18/36. These are distinct restrictions covering different areas of the field. Operators planning to use the north apron should arrange PPR well in advance of arrival. Runway 14/32 carries no comparable restriction noted in the airport's remarks.
When the control tower at Dothan Regional Airport is closed and an aircraft is unable to reach it by radio, clearance delivery traffic is directed to contact Cairns Approach. If Cairns Approach itself is closed, the aircraft should instead contact Jacksonville ARTCC. This layered handoff keeps clearance delivery functioning outside staffed tower hours at KDHN. Pilots should have alternate frequencies loaded before arriving during off-hours. The airport also notes a line-of-sight obstruction between the tower and a portion of Taxiway Bravo, caused by the airport building.
At Dothan Regional Airport (KDHN), pilots can activate several lighting systems via CTAF once the ATCT is closed. These include the MALSR on Runway 32, REIL on Runways 14 and 18, PAPI on Runway 14, and HIRL on Runway 14/32. PAPI on Runway 18 and MIRL on Runway 18/36 are handled differently: they are available only by prior request during attended hours, not through pilot-controlled activation. This split means Runway 18/36 lighting requires advance coordination rather than radio-triggered activation after hours.
