General aviation and air carrier VFR departures should fly the runway heading and maintain 1,200 feet until outside the ATA, unless otherwise approved by the tower.
Military jet operations descend from 4,000-3,000 feet MSL to 1,700 feet MSL within 6 nautical miles southwest of the straight-in approach to runways 03L and 03R, and within 6 nautical miles northeast of the straight-in approach to runways 21R and 21L.

Fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and F-35 rapid refueling hot pit servicing is available during control tower hours with a 24-hour prior permission request, coordinated on a specified frequency. Two aircraft can be serviced simultaneously. Aircraft should advise ATC and proceed to the south ramp off taxiway Z3.
When the control tower is closed, pilots must activate the high-intensity runway lights for runways 08/26 and 17/35, along with taxiways A, A1, A2, B, C, L, and Z, using CTAF.

Caution: this is a joint-use civil/military airport. General aviation and air carrier operators flying VFR must enter the ATA at 1,200 feet when assigned runway 08/26 or 17/35.
Helicopters should enter the airport traffic area at traffic pattern altitude of 1,200 feet, then descend to 700 feet prior to all runways.
Part 77 obstructions include a radar tower to the east and poles near runway 17.
FOD restriction: heavy and wide-body aircraft arrivals and departures are limited to runway 03L/21R only. Aircraft parked at MCAS Yuma's south main parking apron or the VAL back-taxi to runway 03L/21R, then taxiway D. Aircraft parked at Yuma Intl, the FBO, or the defense contractor complex apron back-taxi to runway 03L/21R, then taxiway H1 or F1. Other runways or taxiways are not authorized for this purpose. Heavy and wide-body engine runups on the runway are not authorized, except for USAF aircraft on runway 1/2.
