Montgomery Regional (dannelly Fld) has published operating constraints in seven categories: access, runway notes, emergency arresting systems, environmental, construction, pavement strength and other notes.
Air National Guard: the ANG ramp has ongoing construction. Contact airfield management for taxi instructions. Transport aircraft are limited to minimum thrust while on the ANG ramp. Cones block the entrance to the ANG ramp; contact base operations prior to entering the ramp for their removal. Aircraft inbound for the ANG ramp should contact base operations 15 minutes prior to landing. Aircraft parking is extremely limited; contact base operations for parking instructions. Transient parking is extremely limited. Prior permission is required for use of the ANG ramp; contact ANG operations. The ANG base operations facility is available from 1200-2230Z.
For clearance delivery, if unable to contact on the flight service station frequency, contact Dannelly Approach. When the control tower is closed, contact Atlanta Center.
180-degree turns on runway 10/28 are prohibited for DC-9 or larger aircraft.
When the control tower is closed, runway 10/28 high-intensity runway lighting is preset to medium intensity, and runway 03/21 medium-intensity runway lighting is preset to low intensity. PAPI systems on runways 03, 21, 10, and 28 operate continuously. MALSR lighting on runways 10 and 28, and REIL lighting on runway 03, are pilot-activated via CTAF.
Runway 03/21 is not available for Part 121 or Part 380 operations involving scheduled passenger-carrying flights with more than 9 passenger seats, or non-scheduled passenger-carrying flights with more than 30 passenger seats.
Air carrier and large military aircraft should not taxi on runway 03/21.
Air National Guard: runway centerline is not reported.
Arresting hook system BAK-12B(B) installed, rated at 1,500 feet.
Arresting hook system BAK-12B(B) installed, rated at 1,510 feet.
Military: BAK-12B(B) arresting gear on runways 10 and 28 is available with 30 minutes prior notice, between 1200-0500Z. The gear uses 8-point tie-downs, and a raised cable condition is broadcast on the ATIS.
Military: bird hazard present. Contact base operations on frequency 360.975 for current bird watch conditions. BASH Phase II bird activity occurs during April and from September 1 to December 31.
Military: Air National Guard ramp has ongoing construction. Contact base operations for taxi and parking instructions.

Caution: do not mistake Maxwell AFB, 6 nautical miles north, for Montgomery Regional. Numerous helicopters and low-speed aircraft operate in the vicinity of the airport during daylight hours.
Air National Guard: fixed-wing aircraft inbound to the ANG ramp should contact the ANG 10 minutes prior to estimated time of arrival and upon entering taxiway D. L-3 (C-12) maintenance is available on call through base communications.
Military: fluid type LHNIT.
Military: oil program JOAP.
ANG ramp: reduced wingtip clearance applies for parking spots 11 through 16 when F-35 Lightning protection systems are in use.
Restricted: taxiway E is 35 feet wide, and military aircraft are restricted from its use.

Montgomery Regional (Dannelly Field), KMGM, has two paved runways available for business aviation use. Runway 10/28 is the longer of the two at 9,020 feet, with a width of 150 feet and an asphalt surface. Runway 03/21 measures 4,011 feet, also 150 feet wide and asphalt. A third surface, H1, is a 90-foot concrete pad not relevant to fixed-wing operations. The 9,020-foot runway supports the widebody and military traffic that shares this field with civil operations.
Runway 03/21 at KMGM carries a restriction for certain scheduled and charter operations. Scheduled Part 121 or Part 380 flights carrying passengers with more than 9 seats are not permitted to use this runway. Non-scheduled passenger-carrying operations are restricted from this runway if the aircraft has more than 30 passenger seats. These operators should plan on runway 10/28, which measures 9,020 feet, for compliant operations. This restriction does not apply to runway 10/28 itself.
Montgomery Regional, KMGM, lists 100LL, Jet A, and A++ fuel types, with Jet A confirmed available onsite. The A++ grade is noted in facility remarks as a military service fuel rather than a standard commercial offering. Civilian operators should confirm A++ availability directly with base operations before planning on it. The airport is attended around the clock according to its published schedule. General aviation and business turbine traffic can expect standard 100LL and Jet A service during all hours.
Montgomery Regional (Dannelly Field), KMGM, has BAK-12B(B) arresting hook systems installed on both runway 10/28 and runway 21/03 approach ends, one rated at 1,500 feet and another at 1,510 feet. Military remarks specify that the systems on runways 10 and 28 require 30 minutes prior notice and are available between 1200-0500Z. The gear uses 8-point tie-downs, and a raised cable condition is broadcast on the ATIS. Civil operators transiting these runways should be aware that arresting cable status can change and is announced locally. This equipment primarily supports military transient traffic at the shared-use field.
A published caution at Montgomery Regional, KMGM, warns pilots not to mistake Maxwell AFB, located 6 nautical miles north, for Dannelly Field. The two airfields are close enough that visual confusion during arrival is a known risk noted in the facility remarks. The same remark cautions that numerous helicopters and low-speed aircraft operate in the vicinity of KMGM during daylight hours. Crews inbound to Montgomery Regional should verify field identification before beginning an approach. This is especially relevant for pilots unfamiliar with the local area who may rely on visual references alone.
