Transient alert service operates on a set weekday and weekend schedule and is closed on federal holidays. Lavatory service requires 24-hour prior notice. De-ice service is available only on the transient ramp and the C-130 ramp, also with 24-hour prior notice.

Aircraft and aircrews wishing to visit the Georgia Army National Guard or AASF#2 must land and park at the Clay National Guard ramp. A 24-hour prior permission request is required, and transient parking service there is limited. Contact base operations for coordination.

Aircraft operations are restricted during Bird Watch Condition Moderate and Severe. Under Moderate condition, takeoff and landing routes must avoid identified bird activity and no local IFR/VFR traffic pattern operations are permitted. Under Severe condition, takeoff and landing are prohibited without approval from the 94th Operations Group Commander. Contact base operations for current bird watch conditions.

Hazardous cargo operations are restricted to C-130 or smaller aircraft. Transmitting on HF is not permitted without tower approval. Aircraft must contact base operations 20 minutes prior to landing to confirm prior permission and servicing or load requirements. Parking on the Air Force side requires prior permission, and the assault landing zone is for local use only.

Runway 29 has non-standard approach lights.

Prior permission requests are coordinated and issued only up to 30 days in advance.

Airfield management and the command post do not issue or store COMSEC material. Storage of small non-COMSEC classified material requires 24-hour prior notice through the command post, available on a set weekday schedule and during unit training weekends.

Prior permission is required through Lockheed Martin for use of parking ramps or facilities.

Use of the hot cargo pad requires 48-hour prior notice.

When the control tower is closed, contact Atlanta Approach for clearance delivery.

Reduced Same Runway Separation (RSRS) standards apply only to base-assigned aircraft; standard USAF RSRS does not apply here.

Runway 11/29 and the VEDA assault landing zone are closed for maintenance on the last Saturday of each month, on a set afternoon schedule.

JASU (Jet Aircraft Starting Unit) equipment available: units 1 (A/MA32A-86), 2 (AM32-95), 3 (A/M32A-86), and 5 (ESSEX B809). Base-assigned aircraft have priority for use.

Fuel service operates Monday through Thursday, Friday, and weekends on separate schedules, with an expected one-hour fuel delay. The field is closed on federal holidays. A++ 100 and low/high pressure nitrogen servicing are available.

Oil grade O-148-156 is available for SOAP/JOAP testing; no laboratory service is provided onsite.

Wind readings are estimated because the FMQ-13 wind sensors are accurate only to within plus or minus 4 knots. ATC and weather services will not include or relay a wind correction in forecasts or phraseology. Aircrews should factor a plus or minus 4-knot accuracy margin into their flight operations decisions.
